Find out how we can support adoption professionals through our advice line, consultation and professional training.

Information and Advice Line
Our Information and Advice Line takes queries from all adoption professionals including social workers, adoption lawyers, immigration lawyers and Children’s Guardians.
Outbound Permanence Service
Now managed by CoramBAAF, the Outbound Permanence Service is a specialist advice service for local authorities who are looking to place children in care with family members or “connected people” in countries overseas permanently. It is the only service offering advice on all legal orders, including adoption.

One to one professionals consultation service
There are occasions where more in depth advice is needed so that you can support a family, or develop your service.
Coram IAC offers a consultation service to any professional working within the field of intercountry adoption. This may include services to adoption team staff and managers, to legal departments or to other organisations working within the field. Consultations may be ‘indirect’ through email, telephone and written advice, such as assistance in drafting procedures or writing information packs for applicants. It can also be face to face, for example to provide assistance in inducting a worker or manager new to intercountry adoption.
Consultancy for practitioners and others is tailored to the needs of the organisation and the people involved. This service is offered in its own right or as a service to complement training events. There may be an additional charge where this is not already covered under a Service Level Agreement.
Professional training programmes
Coram IAC offers a range of training programmes for professionals. Courses can be offered either at our Coram Campus offices, or in the Local Authority. In addition, Coram IAC can offer courses to consortium members and bespoke courses tailored to an organisation’s individual need. Regular courses offered include:
